The day started off with morning services led by Ari Ackerman, unfortunately he went against the נוסח of the עולם, but he heard all about it later on from Tzidkas. Once davening was complete the חברה ate breakfast and heard a short חבורה given by Rav Dan Wirzberger. Upon completion the חברה was told to put on winter gear as we were going to be spending the day outside in 10 degree weather. Rav Dan "conveniently" let a football and cones fall out of his car to make us think that we were going to be playing football but he had other plans for us. We set sail on a journey to the unknown, as is custom here on Recharge. We eventually arrived at Jack Frost Big Boulder where we learnt that we would be tubing. We tubed and played in the snow and then decided to play some flag football.
It was eventually time to head back to begin preparing for שבת. While out a few more guests arrived, including Tzidkas, Hertzberg, Rav Judah, Sendy Gross, Chatzkle Rapps, and none other than our very own Dani Kaye! who was supposed to be on the other side of the United States and not expected to join us. We bonded, cooked and cleaned the house in preparation for what was to be the greatest שבת in the history of the Jewish people.

ReplyDeleteby the way nice to see the sefer torah fund up and running.....The cost of immunizing a child
ReplyDeleteIn mid-1990s, vaccines to provide "basic" coverage for tuberculosis, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis, and measles cost about US$ 1 per child. Inclusion of vaccines for hepatitis B and Hib, raises the vaccine cost alone to US$ 7-13 per child in the developing world. When vaccine administration is included, the costs amount to between US$ 20-40 per child. It has become a significant challenge for low-income countries and international health agencies to find ways to introduce more highly-priced vaccines such as those for hepatitis B and Hib. With many new vaccines expected to be available in the near future, issues of financing and financial sustainability will become ever more important.- World Health Organization
